Birth of Jesus, Jesus the answer, Jesus claims equality with God, Joseph’s Sons, Journey –The prodigal son,

 

 

JOSEPH’S SONS:- Gen 41:51-52

 

Joseph got two sons-

Manasseh- forgetting- all the past

Ephraim- fruitful in the land of affliction

-         After  forgetting the past & through the trails & test

-         In the affliction- become fruitful

-         God’s plan for Joseph’s life- Joseph’s faith & faithfulness

-         Joseph waited on God, trusted in God’s wisdom

-         Hoped for better, remained faithful even in odd seemingly unfavourable conditions.

-         In His time. God exalted Joseph- made him ruler over Egypt- fulfilling His word- (in the dream)

-         God, somehow brings to pass His plan- nobody can stop. He makes all things beautiful in His time.

-         Ps 30:5; 34:19; Rom 8:28; II Cor 4:17; Jn 1:8; Is  40:31.

 

 

JESUS SAVES & DELIVERS- Luke Ch 8-

 

Jesus saves or takes care in times of.

Jesus delivers from-

  1. The dangers of life:- storms of trials, difficulties & gives peace.(vs 22-25)
  2. The devils:- bondage, addictions- gives freedom, new life, power to witness, peace. (vs 26-40)
  3. The disease:- the impossible, by faith, by her touch, gives peace. She touched Jesus. What a faith! (vs 43-48)
  4. The death:- raised to life, new life, resurrection, new hope. (vs 41,42,49-56)

 

-         These are the main problems/ questions of mankind.

-         Jesus solves all these by faith in Him.

 

 

JOURNEY OF THE HEART- THE PRODIGAL SON- Luke 15.

 

  1. The wandering soul :- the son who went out.
  2. The critical spirit :-  the son at homem criticizing
  3. The wounded heart:- father’s heart.
  4. The joyous community:- friends, then rejoicing

 

 

 

 

JESUS 5 CLAIMS TO EQUALITY WITH GOD.

 

John 5:17-23; 8:24-28,58; 10:30,33; 14:9; Heb 1:1-3; I Tim 3:16

He is equal with God.-

  1. In His Person (vs 17,18)
  2. In His works (vs 19,20)
  3. In His Power & Sovereignty (vs 21)
  4. In His judgment (vs 22)
  5. In His Honor (vs 23)

 

 

 

 

 WHAT HAPPENED WHEN JESUS WAS BORN? Luke 2:1-20; Mat 1:18-25; 2:1-12

 

Introduction: Why we don’t celebrate Christmas like others?

Reasons:-    1. Not scriptural

                   2. Its commercialized

                   3. Full of idolatry

             4. 25th Dec not real

             5. Traditional

             6. Associated with satan practices like star etc

           7.‘Mas’= death

             8.Jesus told to remember His death- “celebration of communion”

             9. Santaclaus not real

            10. Now Christ is not a baby but the King

 

Is 7:14; 9:6

1.Prophecy fulfilled- planned by the father & announced by the angels (Mat 1:18)

2.Salvation- for all from sins. In the Old testament no salvation.

3. Glad tidings – because saviour was born-(Angels announced)- in the world no joyful news

4.Singing- Glory to God  & peace on earth.. First glory to God then peace to those who do His will

5.Shepherds visited Jesus- He is the focus- seeing Him, experiencing that joy of meeting Him is important.

6.Proclaimed to others –sharing with others is important.

7.Glorified & praised God- it should be the main thing.

8.Meditated (Mary) all these things happening –was occupied with Jesus and His birth

9. Wise men worshipped Jesus- not Mary! They came seeking – they were led by God to worship- by star-

    Divinely directed worship- Jesus said- no one can come unless Father draws (Jn 6)

10. Offered gifts to Jesus- His worth & value (gold etc) – He deserves our best & love.

       Today our sacrifice- Rom 12:1-3

       Worship in spirit & truth- Jn 4:24

       Receive Him & experience –Jn 1:12; 3:16
