REMEMBERING HIM & HIS GOODNESS :- REV 1:5-6

 

Loved us – God’s heart (gave His son) – our condition (depraved)-separated, perishing, enemies.

Washed us – God’s Holiness (gave His blood) – our character (defiled) – contaminated, sinners

Made us – God’s Honor (gave His name/ place ) – our calling (delightful) –high calling, heavenly calling, honorable calling  

 

 

Repentance Illustrated – ( Prodigal Son) Luke 15:11-32

 

    1. Rebelled- against his father, present condition etc.
    2. Remembered- his father’s house
    3. Reasoned- with himself, became aware of
    4. Repented – acknowledged, become convinced, convicted
    5. Resolved- to do something, to change, to go back
    6. Pose – acted immediately, no delay
    7. Returned- come back to the original place, relationship
    8. Reckoned – counted unworthy, saw his sin, result
    9. Received – father received, given the best, original, even more
    10. Rejoiced – the result, great joy, always for all sinners who repent

 

 

The results of repentance

Resurrection Power – Changing lives John 20:1-31

 

Jesus ministered & brought change into (His disciples)

    1. Doubtful- unbelieving His rising from the dead- expecting Him in the tomb yet
    2. Sorrowful- no joy, hopeless, sorrow & sadness
    3. Fearful- afraid of others not coming out, hiding, kept quiet.

-         made them into joyful, hopeful & useful people because He rose from the dead.

-         That’s reason to rejoice & respond to Him.

-         Paul’s prayer to know the power of His resurrection.- Phil 3:10

 

 

RENEWED TO RESPOND RIGHTLY:- Rom 12:1-8

 

1.      Prerequisites to renewal :-

·        presentation – body, mind & will

·        separation – from worldly systems, philosophy

2.      Results of being renewed :-

·        transformation – personality, purpose, perspective

·        proving God’s will (confirmation)– good, acceptable, perfect will

3.      Responding to your own self :-

·        To have a right self image- no exaggeration, sober thinking, proportionate thinking-faith.

4.      Responding to others:-

·        Plurality yet unity – express proportionately.

·        Belongingness & togetherness- Express qualitatively

·        Variety are to grace – Express accordingly.
