WORLDLINESS :- James 4:4

-Worldliness- not the people of the world or the planet Earth.

-It is the world system & philosophies & things of this world.

-         which is temporal  I Jn 2:17; I Cor 7:31; Col 3:2; I Pe 4:3

-         God hates this world system, the temporal world.

Some of the evil effects of Worldliness:-

  1. Destroys the influence of the truth : Mt 13:22
  2. Deludes men into a state of false security : Mt 24:38,39
  3. Makes earthly affection more supreme : I Cor 7:32,33
  4. Moulds the activities & plans of life : Eph 2:2
  5. Leads to religious apostacy: 2 Ti 4:10

Principles judging the worldliness :-

  1. Influence – affecting others
  2. Ownership – following God’s will
  3. Self – affecting ourselves
  4. God’s glory – pleasing Him (Col 3:17)
